Each application must have the specific position title that you are applying for and an original signature. Resumes may be submitted as a supplement to the completed application. To ensure consideration of your application, it must be received by Human Resources by 5:00 p.m. on the closing date identified in the Job Announcement.
Resumes Will Not Be Accepted in Lieu of A Completed Application.
Applications and supplemental documents should be typed or printed legibly. Applications should be completed fully and provide sufficient description of prior work experience. Applications that have “see resume” in the work history will not be considered.

The Town of Pittsboro only accepts employment applications when specific job openings are available. The Human Resources Department reviews each application carefully to identify candidates whose qualifications most closely match the position requirements. The hiring department then reviews and conducts interviews for the position.
The candidate may not be contacted immediately. The employment process can take up to 3-4 weeks. Your patience during this process is appreciated.
The Town of Pittsboro reserves the right to re-advertise, delay, or cancel the filling of a position.

A background investigation will be conducted on the successful candidate, which will be job-related and consistent with the business necessity for the position and may include an inquiry into an employee or applicant’s criminal and driving history, education, previous employment/job experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities; credentials or licensure; character; physical fitness; and other qualifications as required for the position.
Unless local, state, and federal law requires, a conviction record will not automatically exclude a candidate from employment consideration.
