Cultural + Public Art Program

PITTSBORO LAUNCHES NEW CREATIVE PLACEMAKING PLANNING PROCESS!

The Town of Pittsboro, with the help of Creative Community Partners, is undertaking the development of a Creative Placemaking Plan.  In the planning process, the plan will promote a greater sense of identity and vitality for Pittsboro's unique community. The Program works to invest and create public art experiences that illuminates Pittsboro's unique culture and history, sparks reflection and dialogue, attracts tourism and business development, enhances daily life, and brings the community closer together.  

The plan concepts, when implemented, will connect arts and cultural asset “hub” areas in Pittsboro through creative placemaking with public art, wayfinding, pedestrian amenities, program overlays, and exciting lighting and urban landscape design.

Call for Applications for Creative Community Partners!

Help us plan and coordinate project priorities and processes, program implementation, and public outreach. We are looking for local artists and other creative workers to be an active part of the project team to collaborate and help develop a cultural roadmap for the Town.  Please submit your application by September 10, 2023.
